It is important that your recycling and rubbish are in the right place on your collection day.
If you live in a house
If you live in a house, your recycling and rubbish bins, bags and boxes should be at the front of your property on your collection day.
They should be:
- outside before 7am
- as close to the pavement as possible
- within one meter of the entrance to your property
- at street level, we can’t collect bins from basements or up steps
If there is not enough space on your property, you can put them on the pavement.
Bins on the pavement should be:
- not blocking the path
- within one meter of the entrance to your property
After the collection, we will put your bins back where you left them. If you put them on the pavement, you must make sure that they are back on your property within 24 hours of the collection.
Let us know if you need help putting out your recycling or rubbish.
If you live on a housing estate or in a block of flats
If you live on a housing estate or in a block of flats, you should put your recycling and rubbish in the correct communal bins.
If you are unsure about where to put your recycling and rubbish you should ask your caretaker, on-site supervisor, or a neighbour.
If you live in a flat above a shop
If you live in a flat above a shop, you should put your recycling and rubbish outside, at the set time for your property.
To make sure you put your waste out at the right time, check when your recycling and rubbish collection is.
