Our schemes must:
- meet Transport for London’s (TFL) funding requirements
- help deliver the Mayor of London’s Transport Strategy
When deciding which schemes should go forward, we consider:
- the area's traffic volume and speed, pedestrian numbers and cycling routes
- local facilities including shops, hospitals, stations and leisure centres
- past recorded road casualties in the location
- whether the scheme fits with the TfL programme criteria
- whether other projects are due to take place in the area
- other funding opportunities to contribute to the scheme
