A biometric residence permit (BRP) can be used to confirm your:

- right to study
- right to any public services or benefits you’re entitled to
GOV.UK has information about the BRP including how to apply and what to do if it is lost or stolen.
No recourse to public funds
If you have been given permission to stay in the UK, it might include a no recourse to public funds condition. This will mean that you cannot access benefits and other financial support that is paid for by the state.
Visit the government website to find out more about no recourse to public funds.
Right to remain
If you have indefinite leave to remain in the UK, it means that you can stay here for as long as you want. Check if you can get indefinite leave to remain.
You can also get advice and support with the right to remain toolkit.
Asylum seekers allowance payment
You should get £49.18 each week to help you with food, toiletries, travel and clothing. This could be different depending on your situation. Check what you’ll get and what to do if you do not receive your payment.
